Praha 2017 Shot On iPhone

零七年到訪布拉格，為學習攝影青黃交接之際。一方面初嘗試較長焦段90mm手感，才個把月。接續挑戰手機攝影，當年用的還是iPhone 7 Plus。這趟旅行肩負任務，得以手機外接鏡頭拍攝，提交成像。那是智慧型手機唯有單顆鏡頭、一種焦段之年月，各大品牌出招，設計外接鏡頭，手機仍可以拍遍天下。以第三方軟體拍，以RAW存檔，求得後製時寬容度。現今再看，這批影像未現布拉格之美，定是不及格。然發現，彼時尚未讓社群直式構圖牽制，諸多影像仍為橫式構圖，想必當時腦袋中，仍以構圖先決來拍。想給年輕時的自己拍拍肩膀，給予安慰獎。

In 2007, I visited Prague at a time when my passion for photography was just beginning to blossom. On one hand, I had recently started experimenting with a longer focal length of a 90mm lens, just a few months prior. Yet, I quickly took on the challenge of mobile photography, armed with nothing but my iPhone 7 Plus at the time. This trip came with a mission: to capture images using external lenses attached to my smartphone and to deliver them back to the client.

It was an era when smartphones boasted only a single lens and a fixed focal length. In response, various brands introduced external lenses, touting the convenience of capturing everything with just a smartphone while traveling or in daily life. I opted to use third-party software to shoot in RAW format, hoping for more latitude in post-processing.

Looking back now, the resulting images fail to truly capture the beauty of Prague. They fall short of the mark. It's clear to me now that I hadn't fully embraced the vertical composition style that dominates social media today. Many of my photos were still in landscape orientation, indicating that I was still prioritizing composition over anything else. I'd like to pat my younger self on the back and offer reassurance—it's all part of the learning process.
