Berlin is a big city. Everyone who lives in the capital is proud to be part of it.
For me, it was just a bit late to get to understand him deeper.
Berlin is just like a gentleman who is in his middle age yet keeps young and bold in mind. I had been used to shoot Berliner’s Street Style images for several years. Recent years, I enjoy taking photos of city views or the cityscape. There are old and new buildings; I relish how both styles integrate.
I had bought one pair of shoes and a handbag from Coach before we headed to Berlin. I could not wait to wear them and let them join my trip. I carried my Olympus Pen-F with the lens of 45mm 1:1.8, also I took 14-42 mm 1:3.5-5.6 with me for some special occasions; and I could put all stuff into this Coach handbag. It was easy to carry the heavy bag due to its wide strap; my shoulders were not that tired as it could be from all day long carrying it.
There is no better choice to discover a city through a long time walking with one pair of comfortable casual shoes. It is not only about to treat your feet tender but also to style stylish looks easier. Not even to mention that I got this pair of Coach sneakers in the Ingolstadt Village with a 60 % discount.
Westberlin Bar & Shop
Friedrichstrasse 215, Kreuzberg, Berlin, Germany
Checkpoint Charlie is on the top of the must-visit list when people visit Berlin. We just crushed into the Westberlin Bar & Shop unexpectedly and realized that here is a space that the locals like to stay for a coffee or to work for a while. Good and strong coffees, tasty home-baked sweets and cakes, free internet connection, where else is better than here to kill some free time? They also sell selected books and magazines about issues of art, photography and better living. There is a long table that might fit 7-8 people around it; one cup of coffee and a period of good quality time. Really recommended.
YOSOY Tapas Bar
Rosenthaler Str. 37, 10178 Berlin
We had tried a Tapas restaurant in Berlin some years ago; however, we could not find it. Luckily, we discovered another one that was even better and more exciting than we expected, YOSOY Tapas bar. It was small but cozy, we felt like staying at a local tapas bar in a little town somewhere in Spain. We sat at the bar; it had so much fun to enjoy food not only with our stomach but also with our eyes. People passed by, the staff were busy in and out; that was a moment we sat so close to each other that I will never forget.
Everyday life is not about the big wonders, it is about the small wonders that make things a little more pleasant. – House of small wonder
Via Instagram hashtags searching, we found a lovely place, House of small wonder. When we just arrived there, a long line was waiting front of us. We went up and asked; around 15 minutes waiting was the answer we got. The waiting was worth. House of small wonder is original from Brooklyn, New York, and founded by a Japanese Group. Since years, they have opened a branch in Berlin. Look at the stairs in the entrance; it declares that something is waiting for us to discover that is more than just small wonders. Delicious Japanese dishes, tasty coffees, drinks and cakes; they offer not simply beautiful wonders for tourists but also the locals, Berliner.
Berlin Street Style
I am more than satisfied with this two tones handbag that I bought from DressCode. Its design allows me to carry all things I need with this bag. Unexpectedly, the little bag I found from Coach in the Wertheim Village teams perfectly with the DressCode bag. I can put my additional lens in it without worrying to damage it when I go traveling or business trips. These two bags become my favorite ones in my current days.
In this season, we see many trendy trench coats or rain coats. They are perfect ones for Spring in Europe. I tried to team the windbreaker in layers styling; a fun look that I enjoyed.
The Butcher &
Sir Savigny Hotel
Kannstraße 144, 10623 Berlin
I had heard about The Butcher from my friends who lives in Berlin. It made us feeling hungry and would like to try. Altogether, we moved into the Hotel Sir Savigny; The Butcher is its associated restaurant. We were happy about the decision. The burgers were special and tasty; the beef salad was even then great. It is a location I recommended.
Design Hotels are on the trend now. It is not to compare the hardware of the hotel but the taste of the owner. Hotel Sir Savigny Berlin is one of the Design Hotels that is worth to experience. Moreover, at the same time to try the delicious burgers.
Our new friend, Fette whom we met in our dinner event on the first evening in Berlin. She invited us to visit an Art Exhibition, collected attitudes that she helped to set up. The location is in the old East Part of Berlin, Fahrbereitschaft Haubrok. The old buildings integrate with new modern art presents a different yet new concept. Click the link to know more about the exhibition.
Dong Xuan Center
After visiting the Art Exhibition, Fette and her friend showed us the Dong Huan Center, a biggest Vietnamese Village in Berlin, even in Germany. There are supermarkets, grocery stores, beauty salons, fashion stores, snack bars and restaurants. Here is a gray area that Vietnamese supply themselves. No fly and passport needed, as long as entering the Village’s door, it seemed that we came to Vietnam. A place that you must visit.
Another piece that I bought from Coach is this trench coat; with perfect design and cut. The style matched well with the unique Berlin spirit.
The Barn at Kranzler Eck
Kurfürstendamm 18, 10719 Berlin
Our friend also introduced The Barn to us, a coffee shop in the Kranzler Eck which is also nearby the Hotel Zoo Berlin. It is on the top floor, and the advantage offers an opened view. The interior design is simple and clean. I especially love the coffee cups they use; very pleasant atmosphere.
Lon Men’s Noodle House
Kanstrasse 33, 10624 Berlin
We were lucky to have useful information from our local friends; the Berlin trip was excellent. In the last evening in Berlin, we came to the Lon Men’s Noodle House that is known as the best Taiwanese restaurant in town. It was crowded. The owner tried their best to set tables as many as they could to let more people in. They offer the most well-known Taiwanese dishes. I also realized that some regular locals customers could even order their meals without checking the menu. It took us just some minutes until we got our seats; it was a worth waiting for some delicious homemade dishes.
